‘GAME OF THRONES’ Might Have Only 13 Episodes Left After Season 6

When the series was renewed with 2 more seasons, fans rejoiced. As it now turns up, the next two seasons might be shorter than 10 episodes each, as we are used with. It might be so little as 13 episodes left after the sixth season, according to showrunner David Benioff

““I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season,” Benioff told Variety. “We’re heading into the final lap. That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that’s what we’re looking at.”

Variety added, “Sources later clarified those exact numbers were premature, given that the showrunners are now just beginning to outline their plans, but said that any upcoming seasons may be shorter than the full 10 episodes of seasons past.”

  1. This sounds like a compromise between the showrunners (who’ve said they wanted to finish in 7 seasons) and HBO wanted to get an 8th season.

I’d rather we get 2 short focused seasons than 2 more seasons that had been padded out.

    • Yeah, the talk half year- one year ago was that HBO wanted at least 8 seasons. Somebody (can’t remember who) said that they needed 10 seasons.

You have a good poit. If they are focused, it won’t matter how long the seasons are because of the action and the storytelling which would take place if that would happen.

      • And if they had something like 13 episodes of material, it will kill them to get it done in one season. We’ve heard how the production works miracles getting just 10 episodes out each year.

        Thanks for the reply!

      • Yeah, one longer season would be better than two short ones. We would skip the wait which lasts one year. I hope that HBO will be reading this conversation.

Np, thanks for the comment! (:
