TheOneRing.net, the leading web site for all things LOTR & Tolkien claim that various unnamed sources report that Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series will focus on an younger Aragorn.
With a budget of 1$ billion and tied to make it into a 5 seasons long series, lots of source material from J.R.R. Tolkien adds background to the characters of Middle-Earth and more interesting stories can be filmed and shared to the audience.
The movies were spectacular and given the budget and amount of facts, places, characters and such, the series may become something Tolkien fans would love and/or compare it to Peter Jackson’s beloved trilogy.
During the last week, there has been rumor that the very same Peter Jackson could be involved in the series.
Also a while ago, Sir Ian McKellen, who plays Gandalf in the movies, has expressed his desire to portray the wizard in the upcoming series as well.
I haven’t read none of the books about Middle-Earth, but my knowledge is in the movies. Therefore, I believe Legolas may appear in the series aswelll. At the end of the third Hobbit movie, the elf prince’s father, the king, tells his son – Legolas – to seek the heir of Gondor’s throne, although according to the source material, Aragorn would not yet be born at the end of the Battle of the Five Armies.
