While the whole world has stopped because of the Co-vid19, so have a lot of expensive projects.

The Guardian reports that some among the biggest such “have been given the go-ahead to restart filming after the UK government and health bodies signed off on new coronavirus safety rules“.

UK’s film and high-end television industry is worth £3.6bn and could rise now that Hollywood monsters as Matt Reeves-directed ‘The Batman’ – starring Robert Pattinson, the third ‘Fantastic Beasts’- film, set in the Harry Potter- universe, and Netflix’s second season of epic-fantasy series ‘The Witcher’ with Henry Cavill’s in the main role – “is understood to be keen to resume production as soon as is safely possible“.

Two of the most popular shows on British television are ‘Line of Duty’ and ‘Peaky Blinders’. Back in mid-March those were the first UK productions to suspend filming.

There’s even a very likely time-frame till the production may resume as the article states that: “This is a green light that signals that the UK is open for business again for film and high-end TV production,” said an industry source. “Many productions have to get up and running again in the next two months or they won’t get made this year as they rely on summer weather and conditions.

I’m sure we’ll see some release dates pushed back but it’s good to see things are beginning to recover and soon to return to normal.

[NETFLIX] FANTASY SERIES ‘THE LETTER TO THE KING’ GETS A TRAILER

‘The Letter to the King’ is a Netflix adaptation based on the Dutch fantasy classic by Tonke Dragt (first published 1962).

In this sweeping fantasy series, a teenage knight-in-training (Amir Wilson) receives a secret letter on which the fate of the kingdom depends. He embarks on an epic quest to deliver it to the king and stop the world from being plunged into darkness.

MY OPINION
I am a HUGE fantasy fan and based by its looks, this show may fill some needs. Some scenes are epic. I’ve seen some BUZZ around the Net and overall the consensus is that people should look forward to this.

The Letter for the King premieres March 20, only on Netflix.

[TV] THE ARROWVERSE IS CONFIRMED TO COEXIST WITH DCEU

So ever since the Arrowverse premiered its second show – ‘The Flash’, the shows contained by it have had a cross-over event every season where some were guesting others’ shows.

This season’s was titled ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ and was the biggest ever, loosely based on the April 1985 – March 1986 crossover comic series, which rebooted the entire franchise at the time.

‘Crisis’ on TV was unfolded during all DCTV shows with episodes on ” ‘Supergirl'(5×09), ‘Batwoman'(1×09), ‘The Flash'(6×09), ‘Arrow'(8×08), and ‘Legends of Tomorrow'(5×01) on The CW. The ‘Supergirl’, ‘Batwoman’, and ‘The Flash’ episodes aired in December 2019, while the ‘Arrow’ and ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ episodes aired in January 2020. Additionally, events in the Black Lightning episode “The Book of Resistance: Chapter Four: Earth Crisis”, airing between Batwoman and The Flash, and a two-issue comic featuring characters and concepts not able to appear in the live-action episodes, tie into the event.”

The BIGGEST SURPRISE to the event was a brief cameo from DCEU’s ‘The Flash’ – Ezra Miller – meeting his Arrowverse counterpart – played by Grant Gustin. This makes it clear that even though there are different shows, movies and actors, these works, all based on DC Comics’ universe, are now officially in the same multiverse, on alternate Earths. It’s all connected.

We already knew that shows as ‘Titans’, ‘Smallville’ and more also are part of the Arrowverse. There were a couple of cameos confirming this. DC fans must be exalted now, as the whole DC Universe feels more stable and got more to offer. Everything is canon, so just enjoy it.

THere were recently also the news that all Arrowverse shows have been renewed for one more season.

This… this awesome moment:

[TV] THE CW HAS RENEWED ALL OF ITS DC SHOWS

This is more than one week old but I feel as it should be covered.

Since 2012 with the premiere of ‘Arrow’, The CW has been home of a couple of DC series that followed as a result of the mention series’ success and fans quickly named the DCTV universe ‘Arrowverse’.

More than seven years later, five other shows air on the network:
‘The Flash’ is the second longest- running, after ‘Arrow’, is on its sixth season and is greenlit for at least one more.

DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ and ‘Supergirl’ will be getting a sixth season as well. ‘Black Lightning’ has had its first cross-over event tied to the rest of the Arrowverse with ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ and will return for a fourth season.

The newest addition to the line-up is ‘Batwoman’, a show that also shows lot of potential and will also return for at least a second season.

‘Arrow’ has two episodes left ’til its series finale. It’s not cancelled, it’s ending and there’s a spin-off series planned.

[TV] ‘GAME OF THRONES’ PREQUEL SERIES ‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON’ AIMS FOR A 2022 RELEASE

The ‘Game of Thrones’- sequel series ‘House of the Dragon’ is aiming for a 2022 release, according to HBO programming chief Casey Bloys in an interview with Variety.

It is the story of the House Targaryen set 300 years before the events of ‘Game of Thrones’ (the book series are titled ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’) and is based from material from the imaginary history novel ‘Fire & Blood’, also written by George RR Martin.

The author wrote a blog post October 30th last year in which he opened up about the new show when it got ordered a full ten episodes long season.

There are/were more ‘Game of Thrones’- spin-offs planned and we know the fate of one of these: the one he kept calling ‘The Long Night’ and that was supposed to take place 8000 years before ‘House of the Dragon’ and ‘A Song of Ice And Fire’ and go in-depth on The White Walkers- origin. It’s been sadly cancelled and more details are to be found in the linked blog post and the interview.

I’ll keep you updated as soon as new info emerge.

[SERIES] NETFLIX’S ‘LOCKE AND KEY’ SEASON ONE OFFICIAL TRAILER

It looks fit for a good family time and I would define it as “supernatural”. Another Netflix original that is supposed to become a hit and as a subscriber, I am looking forward to this. Keep ’em coming!

PLOT:
Based on the best-selling graphic novels, Locke & Key follows 3 siblings who, after the murder of their father, move to their ancestral home only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities.

[SERIES] ‘THE MAGICIANS’ SEASON 5 TRAILER

This series is one of those that I, unfortunately, slept on ’til now. I like fantasy and magic so I saw the trailer and it blew my mind.

The footage was released a couple of months ago BUT the show is back with new episodes on January 15th, so it’s relevant to check it out. I’ve seen some info around the Internet about what might happen next but I think you should follow the show from the beginning, so I won’t reveal anything but the main plot:

After being recruited to a secretive academy, a group of students discover that the magic they read about as children is very real and more dangerous than they ever imagined. But will getting hooked on the thrill of magic distract them from honing their powers when they need them most?

Airs Wednesdays at 9:00pm/8c on Syfy.
