Last month rumors concerning GAME OF THRONES- showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff working on a KOTOR- movie surfaced on the Internet. Without any direct confirmation from Lucasfilm, we can’t really be sure.
It would actually be too good to turn out true. “Why”, you might ask. Well mainly because GAME OF THRONES has become THE BIGGEST phenomenon in television history and because gamers that are fans of Star Wars would have their prayers answered. There were two games released on the original Xbox and almost everyone agree (at least the first) might be THE finest from the universe, with a mind-blowing setting, unlike anything seen in games of the franchise ’til that point in time.
A movie set in that time (thousands of year before the formation of the Galactic Empire) would also turn the titles to canon. The storyline follows Darth Malak, a Jedi-turned-Sith Lord, who unleashes a deadly Sith army on the Republic.
When asked if they were developing any projects around Knights of the Old Republic, Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm head) stated that:
“You know, we talk about that all the time,” Kennedy said. “Yes, we are developing something to look at.”
Here’s her interview by MTV NEWS:
A couples of months ago, I have listed KoTor as one of the three sequels fans would like to see made.
The final chapter of the Skywalker saga: STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be in theaters worldwide this Christmas. Gamers can look forward to JEDI: THE FALLEN ORDER – with the writer of KOTOR2 behind the script.
STAR WARS CELEBRATION had plenty in store for fans of the franchise. The highlights for us, Internet peeps, were the first teaser for EPISODE IX, the reveal of STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER, the first images of THE MANDALORIAN and the trailer for THE CLONE WARS’ last season.
Beside all of the above, Lucasfilm also showed a new trailer for VADER IMMORTAL: A STAR WARS VR SERIES, which arrives on both Oculus -Quest and -Rift headsets later this year.
I must admit that I’ve yet got to see this show. I am not the biggest STAR WARS fan but I enjoy the franchise.
The trailer gives fans and viewers more insight of what there is to come. New characters and a reunion are, perhaps, the key moments. I think there is something for everyone, either you are a casual or hardcore into the show. Oh yeah, there will also be (as told) an EPIC lightsaber fight.
The 6th and last season will arrive on Disney’s own platform Disney+ sometime after its launch (the launch of the service is set for November, later this year).
Other STAR WARS- related news from the past weekend are:
EPISODE IX FIRST TRAILER AND TITLE REVEAL, then there is the STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER reveal – the next BIG game in set in the George Lucas- crafted universe and the first images from the upcoming tv series THE MANDALORIAN were released – the first ever live-action STAR WARS show.
THE MANDALORIAN is the first live-action (not animated) tv series set in the STAR WARS universe.
Jon Favreau (IRON MAN, DJUNGLEBOOK) is the mind behind the adaptation and he has told fans present today at STAR WARS CELEBRATION that his main inspirational sources are old samurai films and westerns.
The series will launch (exclusively) on Disney+ at the streaming service’s USA launch – November 12, 2019.
Other cool and BIG announcements for the fans from this weekend’s STAR WARS CELEBRATION are TRAILER FOR EPISODE IX along with EPISODE IX TITLE REVEAL and the reveal of the next AAA title set in this universe: STAR WARS JEDI: THE FALLEN ORDER.
Just as announced a couple of days ago, JEDI: FALLEN ORDER – the next game of the STAR WARS saga – has just been revealed.
It’s a single player story revealed to be canon. That means it’s included in the official storyline of the franchise and set after EPISODE III.
Developed by Respawn (TITANFALL) and published by EA, we will follow the story of Cal Kestis—one of the last surviving members of the Jedi Order after the purge of Order 66, who is now a Padawan on the run.
Arriving on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this holiday season, 15 November 2019.
It has been revealed that the official title of EPISODE IX will be THE RISE OF SKYWALKER. I won’t say nothing more – I WANT you TO WATCH this TRAILER.
In theaters this December 😎
