Almost two weeks ago, news that the Snyder cut will see daylight stunned the Internet.
It’s ‘Justice League’s original director Zack Snyder’s vision of the fifth film in DC Comics’ based movie universe, also known as DCEU (DC Extended Universe). It gathers Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman and The Flash. The theatrical cut was around 2 hours long and severe edited due to Snyder’s withdrawal from the project. It will however premiere on HBO Max next year and it’s said to double up the fun – it’s a 4 hours long footage that has yet to be decided upon if it will be released as a movie or splitted into a 6- parts series.
To top this great announcement, Comicbook.com has learned that Henry Cavill, the actor playing the role of Superman in ‘Man of Steel’, ‘Batman v Superman’ and ‘Justice League’ will make a return into the DCEU franchise. It is however, according to the same source, likely that he will be used in supporting roles or cameos, BUT they also state that “Warner Bros. and DC Comics are still figuring out where the character best fits in upcoming films“.
I can’t wait for the Snyder Cut to finally arrive and see where the DCEU will be heading. ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ (‘Wonder Woman 2’) should hit theaters in August and there are more DCEU- tied projects planned, among these a solo ‘Batman’ feature. The first ‘Wonder Woman’- installment, ‘Aquaman’, Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘Joker’ (Oscar winner) and ‘Shazam!’ were very well received by critiques and audiences.
DC fans may know who ZACK SNYDER is. For those of you who don’t: he is the mastermind behind the DCEU universe, being involved with production of Batman Vs Superman and Justice League. So yeah, he is important.
Zack Snyder has posted a pic on his social media account on Vero of what it looks like when the visual effects are added to a film. Anybody viewing the picture can see that Batman is in it taking on one guy, with two others in the same room. Enjoy!
Some fans might argue that the showing of Batman’s parents death once more on the big screen was unnecessary as it is well known to most viewers by now and not only to fans.
In an interview with Forbes magazine, director Zack Snyder said the following: ” You know, they’re both born and live in a world where someone can care about them and mourn them, and they can love their mother. And that’s the cool thing, you know we spend so much time with the Martha-Clark relationship that I think it kind of pays off there. You realize, oh, we needed that as viewers, so we could get to a moment with Batman where that moment with Martha resonates. Because we’ve lived on with Clark’s relationship with his mother, so that moment is like, “Wow, that’s ringing for me and I feel it.
When we were shooting the title sequence, that whole idea about, “Do we really need to see the death of the Waynes again,” is a big thing to take a shot at again. But you realize you need it, because it actually pays off. And I really wanted to do it all the way.”
Confused? Not if you have seen the movie, it’s my guess.
